The companies which merged to form Bradford & Bingley were originally established in 1851. In 1964 they merged and in 2000 Bradford & Bingley converted to a plc and floated on the London Stock Exchange.

Bradford & Bingley's main areas of business are lending and retail banking. Their product and service range includes:
